Information re Paid Subscriptions
griffsthepitch continues with free subscriptions but will have paid members with premium content. Thank you for your support
To my valued Substack readers,
“The time has come,” the Walrus said, “to talk of many things…”
In paraphrasing the famous line from Lewis Carroll’s brilliant satire, Through the Looking Glass, the time has come, my baseball friends … that I will be asking for paid subscriptions to keep Griff’s The Pitch content coming to you on a regular basis.
The premium package will still be sprinkled in with ample free content, so no need to unsubscribe. However, the paid subscription request is necessary to support a lifetime baseball addiction, that includes 51 years in and around MLB clubhouses and ballparks, bearing witness, in person, to over 6,000 regular-season, post-season and spring training games. It is with that experience, insight and humour that I will continue to share … with your help.
The tasty current and projected baseball menu of griffsthepitch.com includes:
*Weekly Columns and Newsletters
*Intelligent opinions on current MLB events and issues
*MLB Power Rankings,
*Exit Philosophy … Podcasts with Griff and Scotty Mac
*1-on-1 video conversations with key figures in the history of CDN MLB.
*Griff’s Mailbag … based on reader questions.
A sincere shout-out of appreciation to my current and future subscribers, led by a number of readers that have already committed to and submitted their “paid-subscription” information for one of two current plans -- $8 (CDN) per month, or $80 (CDN) annually. There will be a SUBSCRIBE NOW button at the bottom of this email and also as part of my next griffsthepitch.com post which will be June 5.
If you as a reader appreciate the quality of the baseball content from GriffsThePitch.com, understanding that this account is the major source of my income, your decision to support financially and move from free subscriber to paid subscriber would be very much appreciated.
How to explain? Let’s see. In easy-to-understand baseball and personal lifestyle context, consider a Griff’s The Pitch subscription as the equivalent of one adult beverage per month in a favourite watering hole taking in a televised major-league game. Then consider that given new MLB rules, specifically the quickened pace of game due to the pitch clock, Griff’s The Pitch is simply the cost of the one extra beverage you will no longer have time for because of the corresponding reduction in time-of-game. Viewed through that lens, we’re all winners.
This new phase of subscription choice for griffsthepitch.com will begin next week, but will still include generous amounts of free content, plus the weekly Exit Philosophy podcast with Scott MacArthur already available on regular podcast outlets, YouTube and arriving via email from GriffsThePitch.com. I look forward, with the help of my valued readers, to continuing to support the passion I have for sharing my own baseball experiences while expanding and promoting the depth and breadth of intelligent MLB and Blue Jays conversation online.
Thanks,
Rich Griffin

I have my paid subscription and it is well worth the cost.
