For the entirety of the Blue Jays’ impressive pre-game, close-to-an-hour ceremonies … then on into the first four Tigers hitters, it was a dream opening night that played out at the renovated (Phase 1) Rogers Centre.
That was the first game of the year that I was able to watch in full (being in Australia can be tricky). I was looking forward to the faster games, but having watched my first, the thing that I noticed the most was that there's not a lot of time for replays on the broadcast! At times I also wished the pace was a bit slower. I grew up watching games in the 70s and 80s and didn't have a problem then, but I suppose we've been spoiled by the quality of game broadcasts. Not sure I'm sold on the pitch clock though. It certainly didn't seem to work in Manoah's favour.
