Recorded on Friday, Scotty Mac and I begin with a discussion of the pending acquisition of 75% of MLSE by Edward Rogers and his Rogers conglomerate and what it means to the Blue Jays, the Maple Leafs and sports coverage in the city and country. We marvel at the 50-50 accomplishment posted by Dodgers’ DH Shohei Ohtani, who reached 50 home runs and 50 steals on Thursday in Miami, going 6-for-6, with a double, two homers and 10 RBIs in what might very well be the greatest single-game performance with so much on the line in MLB history. Plus, what should have been the Blue Jays goals for the final week-plus of the season. Was it to win as many games as possible in an already lost season, or is it to be able to assess and judge individual progress and where the current players fit into the picture moving forward to 2025.
