Scott MacArthur and I, in this edition of the Exit Philosophy podcast, discuss the importance of catcher Danny Jansen being healthy and on the field in a free-agent walk year that is equally important to the Blue Jays and their future. We discuss the strange circumstances leading to the ankle sprain of Joey Votto, the final spring moves to be made by manager John Schneider, all the Patricks in Blue Jays history in the wake of St. Patrick’s Day, early Final Four call for March Madness and more.

Thanks Blair. Jansen has to remain healthy and on the field no matter who he ends up playing for. The Jays are lucky to have Kirk but how much of a load can he carry if Jansen is traded?
A very happy birthday to John Lott! It was great to hear you talking about him. I truly loved reading his work and miss it. I have to say I'm really enjoying these podcasts. I'm not a podcast person, but listening to them feels like being amongst friends. So seeing how we're this friendly community, I'm coming back to Toronto this August for the first time in 10 years and am going to see some games. Would it be too much to ask for you and Scotty to pull some strings and arrange for me to throw out a first pitch? Or is that stretching this community friendship bonhomie a bit too far? I think I'd throw a strike - as mentioned before, I do look like Dave Steib. So there's that.
