This week’s edition of Exit Philosophy features a spirited discussion with me and Scotty Mac breaking down the hidden meanings and messages in a long awaited media availability by Blue Jays president and CEO Mark Shapiro. Entering his 10th year at the helm, Shapiro is a very smart baseball executive who often underestimates his audience. Also, memories and acknowledgement of the 30th anniversary of the devastating baseball strike that began on Aug. 12, 1994 wiping out the World Series and what the ill-advised work stoppage meant to Canadian baseball and to Griff himself, on a personal basis. Plus, of course, the immediate future of these Jays, their failed ‘24 season and what it may look like in 2025, moving forward.
