Shapiro calls Guerrero Jr. "Legacy Player"
Blue Jays president sounds optimistic note on new contract
On this past Thursday morning Blue Jays CEO Mark Shapiro addressed the assembled media, an annual event in Dunedin. Back in October, he had called Vlad Guerrero Jr. “talented, but not generational” He has seemingly changed his tune, now calling him perhaps a Blue Jays “legacy player”. Could this change of heart be a signal for renewed fan optimism that something can be done to keep Vlad in a Jays uniform for the remainder of his career? Mal and I discuss Vlad’s changing, far too distracting contract status in this edition of Exit Philosophy, plus opinion on the Dodgers vs. Cubs season-opening Series in Japan, Max Scherzer’s injured thumb and far more.
