I have followed the Jays from Australia since 1993 and other than the odd game on a home visit now and then, I've followed completely from afar - thanks mostly in recent times to games being available online. But even from a distance it was not hard to feel the insane energy that was released in a desperate fanbase after the David Price trade. The fans were rabid and the Bat Flip was a culmination of 22 years of frustration. The fact that it was Jose was perfect. That team should have beaten KC. I remember watching that last game on my phone while my Australian wife was driving and with Pompey on 3rd with no outs I said 'It's impossible not to score'. She didn't care and I just went into a coma that I'm not sure I've fully recovered from.
