Two obvious highlights from the Guardians ALCS Game 3 win, that ended 7-5 in 10 innings over the Yankees, jump off the scoresheet. They are late-game heroics that will be replayed in highlight packages for years to come. Begin with the ninth-inning game tying blast by unheralded pinch-hitter Jhonkensy Noel, followed by the incredible walk-off homer by DH David Fry in the 10th. But this Guardians victory was a win in which almost every player was able to contribute, significantly.
Yes, there were moments that may have seemed more important to this stunning victory by MGR Stephen Vogt’s ‘dogs. The Guardians spend $200-million less on their payroll than the big-ticket Bombers.
