For me Kevin is right up there with Tony Fernandes as my favourite Jay of all time. Kevin’s love for Toronto was like Tony’s although Tony was more soft spoken. And like Tony Kevin is a person of substance. One of his defining moments for me was when he plunked José Ramírez after Vladdy was hit with a pitch. It was gut wrenching to see him traded but what a great five years he gave us and that is something worth celebrating.
Great story and a great Blue Jay. This trade has upset me. My favourite memory was the 'f-bomb yeah!' he let go in front of Hazel during the celebration after beating the Mariners last year. I know it's a business, but he should have finished his time in Toronto (or at least his contract) in the playoffs this year. I blame the team for underperforming (some players in particular). It should never have ended like this. And for two marginal prospects with even less power than Vladdy? They might as well just have brought Socrates Brito and Derek Fisher back. They would have been better off just to keep him.
