But he can be forgiven. Isn't that always the case with him? If he wasn't sure it was a homerun why wasn't he running?

There's a question I've been meaning to ask someone all year - so here it is. When Shapiro was asked if he thought Vlad Jr was a 'generational talent' before the 2025 season, he basically hummed and hawed his way to a 'no'. Not long after, Vlad signed his extension

Do you think Shapiro did that extension with gritted teeth? At the time the narrative was that Bo was likely going to leave (and he did) and it would have been terrible PR not to extend Vladdy. In a sense he/they had no choice although from what I've read it was Edward Rogers pushing for it.

So perhaps the Jays didn't value Vladdy that highly as a player?

And the irony is that stats wise we would have been better off this year with Ty France at 1st base.....
