Springer is such a joyful player to watch when he's playing well and is easy to root for when he's not. I just don't understand how he can go from literally being washed up after 2024, followed by a terrible 2025 spring where there was talk of letting him go, to being one of the best offensive players in the league last year...and now this year. Sure part of it must be age. I'm sure he's beat up aside from his toes. I think he was in bad shape by the end of the playoffs. But it's a bizarre series of seasons.

I do think we miss speed in the lineup. When was the last time we had a legitimate stolen base threat? It doesn't seem to be part of this front offices' agenda. Players with a decent track record of stolen bases always seem to lose that part of the game when they come here. I miss the old traditional leadoff hitter...someone like Chandler Simpson. But then I also miss complete games...

So who bats leadoff? Clement?

Hey Marshall,

ABS. In 33 games at leadoff Springer 26/129-.202 5HR 12RBI. Other 20 games at leadoff with various batters leadoff spot is one more hitting 13 fewer games 27/95-.284 with a homer 10RBIs. So bat George 5-6 and you can as a smart Blue Jays analytics group find the best leadoff guy.
