Blue Jays can't stand pat and expect to return to World Series
Intriguing off-season begins with juicy free-agent and trade rumours
The MLB Hot Stove is heating up early with significant trades and with free agent tires being kicked in earnest. On Exit Philosophy, Griff and Mal discuss where the Blue Jays stand with regard to ’26 team payroll and what it allows them to do in their attempt to repeat a trip to the World Series. What should be the key free agents they should pursue. Does that include a new closer to slot in ahead of Jeff Hoffman. What about their own primary free agent, Bo Bichette? Could a trade for D’backs 2B Ketel Marte be a solution? Max Scherzer seems to be pushing for a return to be a part of running it back, but is he a fit anymore? Are the Jays in danger of making the same mistake the Leafs did with Mitch Marner, letting him go and feeling they can replace him, no problem. Have the GM Meetings replaced the Winter Meetings in importance? All this and more about an off-season that is about to get very interesting.

Dylan Cease is a good start.
